George Raymond Kulla, 71, of Dillwyn died April 11, 2017.  He was born January 2, 1946 in Cheverly, Maryland, a son of the late Fritz R. and Frances Gleason Kulla.

He was a retired passenger conductor for Amtrak with 30+ years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Newman Kulla; daughter, Heather S. Barnes (Jeffrey); three sons, Gregory G. Kulla, Christopher Kulla and Jeffrey Kulla and brother, Martin Kulla; two grandchildren; his in-laws, Robert C. and Dorothy A. Newman; two brothers-in-law, Robert B. Newman and Jeffrey L. Newman (Lauri); two nieces, Briana Phair and Catherine Newman and two nephews, Ryan Phair and Evan Newman and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at noon.
