Wilson David Kidd, 81, of Wingina Virginia died peacefully in his home early Friday
morning, January 24th, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Nelson County Virginia December 2, 1938, he was the son of the late Albert Kidd
and Ethel Amos.
After serving his country for several years in the United States Army, he ventured
through various occupations including a moving company, logging, and manufacturing, always
working hard to provide for his family.
Throughout his life he had a tremendous love for hunting, fishing, cooking and raising
the family that he was so very proud of.
While in the Army he met his beloved wife of 53 years, Kathleen Phillips Kidd. In addition
to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Ruby Kidd of Wingina Virginia; Five daughters, Rebecca
Kidd of Richmond Virginia, Teresa Atkins (Ronnie), of Evergreen Virginia, Tracy Kidd of
Appomattox Virginia, Linda Kidd (Clifton) of Chesapeake Virginia, and Amy Kidd (Lewis) of
Wingina Virginia; Three Sons, Ray Kidd (Vada) of Spout Spring Virginia, Donnie Kidd and
Wilson Kidd Jr. (Lauren) both of Wingina Virginia; 18 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren
and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Troy Kidd; Five brothers,
Walker Kidd, Thomas Kidd, Robert Kidd, Russell Kidd, and a Baby Brother; And one Sister,
Christine Strong.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Mike Dodson of Tree of Life Ministries will be
held at 2pm Tuesday January 28th at Dunkum Funeral Home Dillwyn Virginia. Interment will
follow in the Bryant Family Cemetery on Spears Mountain Rd, Wingina Virginia. The Family will
receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Monday January 27th, also at Dunkum Funeral Home and
other times at the residence of Wilson and Kathleen Kidd on Meadow Creek Rd., Wingina
Virginia.
