William Junious (Popeye) Taylor

William Junious “Popeye” Taylor, 77, of Dillwyn, passed peacefully on September 23, 2021. He was born March 3, 1944, in Buckingham County, a son of the late Herman Marshall Taylor and Fannie Gormus Taylor.  Popeye enjoyed playing softball and going to dances but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Popeye is survived by three sons, Clarence M. “Butch” Taylor, W. Eugene Taylor and Christopher D. Taylor; grandson, Jacob Lewis Taylor; sister, Gladys Vaughn; brother, Herman Wesley Taylor and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Barbara Ann Taylor, Lucille Baldwin, Nancy Ramsey and Doris Hall.

Graveside service on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Rocky Mounty United Methodist Church Cemetery.
