William Reid Bryant, a dedicated mechanic, beloved husband, and devoted son, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 25 in Farmville at the age of 61.
Born on January 27, 1964 in Lynchburg, Virginia, William was a true cornerstone in the community that grew up appreciating honesty and hard work. From a young age, he had a passion for racing go-carts and awarded multiple trophies. Worked out of his small repair shop in Concord known as Bryant’s Small Engine Repair ensuring the communities mowers and saws were ready for the season matched only by his kindness and patience.
A deep and abiding sorrow for William was the loss of his mother, Edna Mae Thacker and step father, Wesley Franklin Thacker, who preceded him in death years prior. He often spoke of his mother’s warmth, and now his family takes comfort in knowing they are reunited.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Susan Bryant, two step children, Charlotte Page and Daniel Page, one step child, Mary Kay Weeks, who proceeded him in death 15 years prior. He was also preceded in death by his father, Otis Reid Bryant of Wingina Va. He will be greatly missed by his family and community.
