Virginia Eleanor Breon Hunt (Ginny), 78, of Arvonia died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Arvon Baptist Church in New Canton.
Born June 8, 1944 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Breon (Elizabeth) and Arlene Mayes. On April 30, 1991, at Arvon Baptist Church in New Canton, she married Leonard Wayne Hunt who survives at home along with her fur babies Bo and Mia.
Along with her husband she is survived by five children, Brian McDonald of Huntersville, North Carolina, Sean McDonald (Joy) of Kearneysville, West Virginia, Christopher Wayne Hunt (Tammy) of Dillwyn, Jennifer Rebecca Riddle (Jason) of Damascus, Maryland, Patricia Ellen Owens (Brian) of Tallahassee, Florida, and 12 grandchildren: Haley, Ava, Devon, Sydney, Phoenix, Connor, Taylor (Fletcher), Tyler, Crista, Nathanial (Nate), Emily and Wyatt. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cindy Breon; a brother-in-law, Larry Hunt (Cheryl); two nieces Donna Hawbaker (Brian) and Christy McMullen (Aaron): two nephews Frank Breon and Clint Breon (Joanna).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her sister, Fanny Breon and her brother, Charles L. Breon II (Chuck).
Ginny graduated from State College Area High School in 1962. A busy homemaker and proud mother, she previously owned and operated the Rusty Nail Bar and Crab House in Mt. Airy, Maryland. She was employed by the Virginia Department of Corrections at Buckingham Correctional Center in Dillwyn, serving for 28 years as a Food Operations Director. Affectionately known as "Miss Hunt," she knew no strangers and was much loved by all who knew her. She never left the house without her hair and nails done, and was very meticulous about her appearance and her home. She loved to craft and knew every thrift store within the states of Virginia and Pennsylvania. She was a crafter at heart and enjoyed making floral arrangements for every season as well as creating beautiful wedding florals for friends and family.
Visitation with be from 2 to 4 on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.
Funeral Service with be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Arvon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
