Stella Darlene Whorley

Stella Darlene Whorley, 69, of Dillwyn passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 4, 2024.  She was born on May 12, 1955 to Willie B. Whorley and Paris Esther Whorley.

Throughout her life, Darlene loved sports, country music, attending Bluegrass Festivals and playing cards.   Darlene never met a stranger, she enjoyed taking to everyone, especially children.

Darlene, as most people knew her, was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Doug Hensley, Willie Whorley Jr. and Gary Whorley and nephew, Corey Tyree.

Darlene is survived by her three sisters, Linda Moore (Roger), Margaret Estes (Bob) and Shirley Shumaker (Bruce) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Buckingham Community Cemetery.
