Skyler Meade Obituary

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Skyler R.
Meade who left us too soon at the age of 24 on December the 26th, 2025. Born in Henrico, Virginia, on
February 7th , 2001, Skyler a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend was known
for his love, integrity, humor, intelligence, creative ability, resilience, generosity, and kindness. An avid
student of life he loved learning and sharing his knowledge of spirituality, philosophy, music, history,
art and science. He graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro South High School, Princeton New
Jersey in 2020, where he met friends who he considered family and participated in several school
programs including weight training and the 107.9 FM radio club. Sky loved these times hanging out
with his friends and sharing special milestones and simple moments, from celebrations to quiet
conversation. He later attended PVCC and had dreams of being a part of making the Earth a better
place and felt strongly for kind deeds, justice, equality, peace and most of all the power of love. He
was at his happiest spending time with family and those he loved surrounded by nature, going on
adventures, exploring new places, being outdoors, participating in debate, telling jokes and making
people laugh, listening to music, being creative, and playing video games. He was a talented, kind,
and humble mentor to his sisters and being the most wonderful big brother came naturally to him as
did being encouraging, strong and kind to all who loved him. Sky had great strength in his beliefs and
shared his gentle strength with how he expressed love, encouragement, and kindness.

“To live in the hearts we leave behind is to live forever.”

-Carl Sagan

Skyler leaves behind his mother, Mandy Leigh and father, Christopher Meade, sisters
Leighauna and Madelynn, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him
dearly.

A Peaceful graveside service was held January 10, 2026, at Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery in Amelia for close
family and friends who shared lovely stories filled with fun memories, and inspirations and how to
carry Skyler’s love in the future.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

If you wish to give a gift to the grieving family we ask that you please donate to a noble cause,
plant trees, and show kindness to one another.

There's a river of my people
And its flow is swift and strong,
Flowing to some mighty ocean,
Though its course is deep and long.
Flowing to some mighty ocean,
Though its course is deep and long.
Many rocks and reefs and mountains
Seek to bar it from its way.
But relentlessly this river
Seeks its brothers in the sea.
But relentlessly this river
Seeks its brothers in the sea.
You will find us in the mainstream,

Steering surely through the foam,
Far beyond the raging waters
We can see our certain home.
Far beyond the raging waters
We can see our certain home.
For we have mapped this river
And we know its mighty force
And the courage that this gives us
Will hold us to our course.
And the courage that this gives us
Will hold us to our course.
Oh, river of my people,
Together we must go,
Hasten onward to that meeting
Where my brothers wait I know.
Hasten onward to that meeting
Where my sisters wait I know.

“River of My People” – Pete Seeger
