Shirley Ann (Taylor) Gormus

Shirley Ann Taylor Gormus, 86, of Dillwyn passed peacefully on July 14, 2022.   Shirley was born November 25, 1935 in Buckingham County, one of 13 children born to the  late Matt and Nannie Sue Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Luke Edward Gormus and the remainder of her siblings and many extended family members.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Newman and husband, Jack and her  two sons, Jerry Taylor and his girlfriend, Katie Davis and Donnie Gormus; grandchildren, Mike Sutton, Shawn Taylor and Rachel Davis;  great-grandchildren Preston Sutton and his wife, Taylor and Landon Sutton; great, great grandson, Lucas Sutton ; two sisters Minnie Stone and husband JT, Sue Taylor, two brothers, Matt Taylor Jr and wife, Katie and Louis Taylor and wife, Nellie and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 3 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Rocky Mount U.M.C. Cemetery.  Family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m.
