Sallie Gough Dean

Sallie Ann Gough Dean, 82 of Buckingham, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital.  

Sallie was born on October 17, 1942 in Buckingham County.  She was one of 8 children born to the late Leroy and Lillian Gough.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Nowlin Gough and Carlyle Gough and sister Inez Moss.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James A. "Jimmy" Dean, daughter Sarah Litten (Alan) and grandson Tucker of Brentwood, TN.  She is also survived by her sister Hilda Taylor of Cedarville, OH, brothers Ronnie Gough and Addison Gough and sister Mary Hagen, all of Dillwyn, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

Family night will be Thursday, October 9 at Dunkum Funeral Home 16923 Oak Street, Dillwyn, VA 23936.

Funeral will be Friday, October 10 at Bethlehem Baptist Church 3808 Troublesome Creek Rd. Dillwyn, Va 23936
