Ruby Blanche Manis Harris, 89, of Buckingham County, Virginia, passed into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2024, while surrounded by the love of her daughters. She was active in her church families, with a heart for service, and was involved in many mission trips and projects. She enjoyed participating in social events and traveling, and was a member of the Buckingham Active Seniors group. Ruby loved spending time with her family, tending her garden and her flowers, working puzzles, and dancing. She was a true prayer warrior, and her favorite song was “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be”.

Ruby is survived by her daughters Bonita Smith, Karen (Allen) Fowler, Donna Weddle, Faye (David) Bryan; daughter-in-law Nellie Harris; grandchildren, Rhae (Scott) Newbill, Dan (Melanie) Fowler, Jennifer (Chris) Burch, Matthew (Halee) Weddle, Crystal (Kevin) Adcock, Justin (Jamie) Bryan, Lewis (Kellee) Falls, Peggy (Rick) Cunningham; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers Paul (Brenda) Manis, Jack (Betty) Manis; sisters-in-law Liz Manis and Helen Manis; special friends Barbara and Bernard Tolbert, and their daughter Sheila, who was like one of the Harris girls.
A celebration of her life and of her journey to her eternal home will be held on Thursday, February 15th at Maysville Baptist Church. Viewing will be 1:00pm, with a service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice, or an act of kindness can be performed in honor of Ruby’s memory.
