Ronnie Lee Jamerson, 84, of New Canton, Virginia, passed away on February 7, 2026.
Raised in New Canton, Ronnie spent his life exactly where he wanted to be — close to his
family, friends, and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Harris Jamerson and Lawrence Jamerson.
Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis Jamerson; loving children, Christy Wells and
Michael Wells and his wife Diane; and his cherished grandchildren, Colby Woodlief, Courtney
Campbell and her husband Sanders, and Kyle Wells. He also leaves behind his brothers,
Lawrence “Goo” Jamerson and Ray Jamerson, and his twin sister, Bonnie Keene.
Throughout his long career in life insurance, Ronnie served Central Virginia with dedication and
integrity—his clients often becoming lifelong friends. Outside of work, he found joy in golf,
especially with his best friend Terry Towler, and in his younger years, he was active in many
sports including softball, baseball, and hunting.
Ronnie’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was deeply devoted to his church, his
community, and the simple pleasures of home—especially time spent with his beloved animals.
A viewing will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, February 14 th 2026 at 11:00 a.m.,
followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. and a gathering of friends immediately thereafter.
Ronnie will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family, friends,
and community. His warmth and humor will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.
