Robert Wayne Taylor, 56, of Appomattox, formerly of Dillwyn, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on February 22, 2026. He was born March 27, 1969, a son of the late James Albert Taylor and Grace Murphy Taylor.
Robert was a man who stayed busy, and could be found working in his yard, garden, or fishing at Buggs Island.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of nearly 27 years, Wanda B. Taylor; son, Jeffrey Mayberry (Mary); seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves behind a sister, Brenda Ellis (Bill) and brother, James Taylor (Sue); numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by daughter, Amanda Martin; sisters, Marie Newton, Peggy Kirby, Sarah Killen; and brother, Don Taylor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Buckingham Community Center, 16268 N. James Madison Hwy., Dillwyn, VA 23936.
The family would like to thank everyone for the calls, visits, and prayers during Robert’s hospital stay and especially his nephew, James T. Stone Jr. for his help during this very difficult time.
Robert was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
