Affectionately known as “Boogaloo,” he was born on November 12, 1941, in Coal City, West Virginia to Robert and Katherine Farrar, both of whom he now rejoins in eternal rest.

Danny is survived by his son, Robert Daniel Farrar III of Frederick, Maryland, and granddaughters, Willow and River Farrar. He is also survived by his sister, Ramona Farrar Hatcher of Columbia, South Carolina, his siblings Karen Farrar and Tim Farrar both of Dillwyn, Vi, and was predeceased by his younger brother, Larry Farrar.

Danny is also survived by his former wife, Dorothy Farrar, and her daughters, Brittany Hopkins and Pearl Schaffer, all of Virginia. A devoted caregiver, Missy Fucina, was especially kind to him in his final days, as were the physicians and nurses at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Lynchburg Hospital, and Hospice House in Blackstone. He leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Danny attended Stoco High School in Coal City. A military veteran, he bravely served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, exemplifying his unwavering commitment to his country. After his military service, Danny worked as a traveling welder in various states.
