Robert Lee Cook

Robert Lee Cook aged 87 went home to be with the Lord on 02/05/26 at 4:50 PM, passing peacefully in his sleep and awakening in the presence of God.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Cook; his father, Joseph Cook; and his mother, Minerva Cook.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark Cook (Valory) and Joseph Cook (Teresa); his grandchildren, Steele Cook, Montana Cook, Josiah Cook (Erin), and Maddison Cook; and his siblings, Betty Jo Peery, Delores “Dot” Raines, Carol Sue Chandler, and Kenneth Cook.

Robert retired after 35 years West Virginia American Tire\Merchant Tire and later Bulk Transit.
Robert was a hard worker at his vocation and in his private life and rarely took a day off, except the Lord’s Day which he set apart for faith and family, often spent gathered with loved ones around a table full of food and laughter.

Robert enjoyed being outdoors and loved camping, fishing, and farming. Some of his most cherished memories were made at family camps along the New River and in Roane County.

In 1977, Robert chose to follow Christ and was baptized near his home in Campbell’s Creek, in Charleston West Virginia.

His faith was not merely spoken but lived—most clearly seen in the quiet moments.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dilwyn VA.

Robert will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
