Robby Elwood Newton, Sr., 68, of Buckingham County, VA, passed away peacefully in his home
on March 01, 2026. Born March 21, 1958, in Arvonia, VA to the late Nathan Ayers Newton and
Annie Thomas Newton. Robby graduated from Buckingham County Schools. At an early age Robby
joined Wesleyan Church in Arvonia, VA. Later in life, he became a member of Baptist Union Baptist Church.
Robby was a dedicated truck driver. He spent 20 years at Whitehurst Paving, where he received several
awards as a Superintendent, before retiring. After retirement he continued to work for his son,
driving dump trucks until shortly before his final days. Robby was known behind the wheel as
Nightstalker. He was known for his sense of humor, his kindness, his willingness to help and his strength.
Robby was an active outdoors man, who was often seeking to “tag a buck.”
Robby is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Jacqueline Newton and children, Bryan, Jason
and Robby Jr., his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by
his mother, Annie Thomas Newton, his father, Nathan Ayers Newton, his sisters, Elizabeth and Gloria,
and his brother Malcom. As we all agree, Robby left us too soon, he will always be remembered as a vibrant soul whose
laughter and jokes filled every room. His legacy of kindness lives on in the hearts of his loving family.
A celebration of Robby’s Life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Baptist Union Baptist
Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until
2:00 pm Saturday, at the church.
