Radford Thomas Ranson, 65, joined his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Born February 3, 1949 to Kenneth and Irene Ranson, he lived most of his life in Buckingham County.  Mr. Ranson, known to many as “Hook,” served his country in the Army and Vietnam War from 1969-1972. He was employed as a truck driver for 40 years. His love of motorcycles began at a young age, building most of his own, and of course, enjoying the ride.  He is survived by his three children, Samantha Ranson Scialdo, Zachariah Thomas Ranson, and Elijah Radford Ranson; son-in-law, John Michael Scialdo; a grandchild, Piper Annmarie Scialdo; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Irene Ranson, and siblings, Sue Ranson Dowdy, Patricia Ranson, and Thomas Ranson. Visitation with family and friends will be held Friday, November 28, at 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, at 11 a.m. at Dillwyn First Baptist Church followed by graveside at Dillwyn Town Cemetery.  Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
