Peggy (Meador) Johnson

Peggy Meador Johnson, 84, of Arvonia, passed peacefully on June 21, 2020.  She was born June 17, 1936 in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late James L. and Emily Rickman Meador.  She was the widow of Joseph Putney “Sonny” Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her son, James William “Bubs” Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Emily L. Johnson and Annette Johnson; granddaughter, Chelsey Danielle Shifflett and many other family and friends. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, New Canton.  A viewing will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. that same day at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Goochland Courthouse Station 5, P O Box 265, Goochland, VA 23063.
