Patti “Pep Pep” Lynn Tyler passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was 69 years young. A celebration of Patti’s life will be held at 3:30 pm,
Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor Alan McCullough
officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
Raised in Burkeville, VA, Patti was born on November 19, 1955, the only daughter of
three children to the late Opal Irene Tyler and Harold Archie Tyler. She attended Prince
Edward Academy where she met her husband and father of her children, E.E.Talbott,
Jr. She then attended Longwood University in Farmville, where she obtained her
Bachelor of Science and graduated magna cum laude. She worked in primary education
in fashion design, culinary arts, and child development where she took a personal
interest in all her students and their wellbeing.
Patti also had fond memories of quilting, going to the beach, and watching re-runs of
Mash, Andy Griffith, Golden Girls, and Matlock. However, her true love was raising her
two children, Jay and Leeanne, and being a doting grandmother.
Patti is survived by her children, Jason Ellis Talbott and wife, Emily Goolsby Talbott of
Buckingham, Jessica Leeanne Talbott and partner, Allison Barbour of Columbia,
Missouri; brothers, Harold Tyler and wife, Karen Tyler of Burkeville, Dean Tyler and wife,
Sheila Tyler of Moyock, North Carolina; and her grandchildren, Hayden, Grayson,
Braedon, Avery “Tot” and Rosalie. Also surviving are many nephews, friends and her
beloved pets, Foxy, Rainey, Daisy Mae and Turtle.
