Nash LeGrand Tatum IV, also known as, “Gran”, “Uncle Sparky”, “Boy”, and “Beachball”, 42, raised in Powhatan County, went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2025. He was born on April 24, 1983, the oldest child of Nash LeGrand Tatum III and Donna Jane Sutton.
Gran was preceded in death by his beloved father, Nash LeGrand Tatum III, his infant brother, Daniel Lee Tatum, his grandparents, Nash LeGrand Tatum, Jr., Mary Evelyn Lockamy Tatum, Bobby Lee Sutton, and Betty Fay Sutton. He is also preceded in death by his precious dog, Addie.
Gran is survived by his mother, Donna Jane Sutton; sister Lacy “Sparkles” Danielle Tatum Huddleston; brother in law, Warren Morton Huddleston; his only niece “his little best friend and side kick”, Brooklyn Grey Huddleston; aunts and uncles include, Mike and Linda Boggs, Bennie and Sherrie Payne, Jo Ellyn Tatum Smith and Kathi Lynn Tatum Noblin; cousins, Ryan, Michael, Caine, Ashlee, Emily, Tatum, Sam, and too many more to name here that loved him dearly.
Gran “our sweet Uncle Sparky”, was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, and the best Uncle. He was loved by many and had too many friends to count. When Gran walked into a room, his larger-than-life personality and ability to make people laugh was what he was known best for. From his days at the Funny Bone Comedy Club to just hanging out with friends and family, cracking jokes, he was sure to put the biggest smile on your face and make you laugh hysterically. He had a smile that you couldn’t forget, so jolly and sincere. He loved spending quality time with his closest friends (Chelsea and Trey) and his family, especially his only niece, Brooklyn. She was truly the apple of his eye. They were inseparable and they adored each other, just like two little peas in a pod. He absolutely loved his time in nature photographing birds, gorgeous sunsets and many other animals. He also enjoyed his job and work family at General RV in Ashland.
Gran was a simple guy, so humble, tender-hearted and kind. He didn’t want for much and just truly enjoyed living life doing all the things he loved. He believed in God and knew where he was going, and he never ended a phone call to his family without saying, “I love you.”
