Michael Paul Godlewski, Sr., 77, of New Canton, died at his home on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born May 21, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Thaddeus and Katherine Godlewski.
Mike joined the United States Air Force in 1967 and served for four years and obtained a Degree in Electronics from the USAF. He was employed in the maintenance department in manufacturing facilities throughout his life.
In 1979, he answered the call of his Lord and entered the ministry for 40 years. Mike or “Preacher” as he was known preached in numerous counties in Central Virginia, until his retirement due to failing health. After joining the ministry, Mike continued his education and held degrees in Doctorate in Biblical Counseling, Doctorate in Theology and Master of Arts in Theological Studies.
Mike enjoyed restoring vintage Volkswagens with his sons, Matt and Ben. He enjoyed woodworking and always tried to grow a garden.
Mike is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma; five children, Karen, Michael, Kathleen, Matthew, and Benjamin; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
