Maude Elizabeth “Betty” Dunn Whorley entered heaven on April 17, 2025, at Heritage Hall of
Blackstone. Betty was born on August 30, 1940, to the late Stewart Andrew Dunn and Maude Snoddy
Dunn Wharam. Betty married her high school sweetheart, the late Charles Henry “Dick” Whorley in
1957. She is survived by her children, Jeffery Scott Whorley and his wife, Kaye, of Hanover and Sharon
Lynn Whorley Jamerson and her husband, Ronald, of Dillwyn. She also had three grandsons; Massey
Whorley (Abigail), Mitch Jamerson (Alison), and Jonathan Jamerson (Anastasia) as well as
six great grandchildren Lydia Whorley, Reagan Steinruck, Wally Whorley, Virginia Pryor Whorley,
Gunner Jamerson, and Kip Jamerson.
She is also survived by her brothers Stewart Dunn (Ann) and Earl Dunn (Barbara).
The family would like to thank the staff for the extraordinary care that she received at Heritage Hall
from their staff as well as Amedisys Hospice.
