Mary Manchester Obituary

Mary Alice Agee Manchester, 73, of Howardsville, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2020. Mary was born April 5, 1947, the only daughter of the late Luke N. Agee, Sr. and Sadie Guill Agee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice P. Manchester and a brother, Luke N. Agee, Jr.

She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Glenmore.

She is survived by her daughter, April Gowin Adams (Van) of Drakes Branch; step-son, Maurice Barry “Buddy” Manchester, Sr. (Carol) of Howardsville; step-daughter, Karen Newton of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; brother, John Giescher Agee (Linda) of Powhatan; five grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Gowin of Lynchburg, Megan Nicole Pippen and Charlotte Adams Stieg (Jerry) of Drakes Branch, Aaron Van Adams of Richmond, Maurice “Barry” Manchester Jr. of Howardsville and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Mary loved her family deeply and they will greatly miss her gentle nature and great sense of humor. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
