Marie Davis Parker

Marie Davis Parker, 86, of New Canton, departed this earth on May 6, 2022.  She was born to the late Willie Davis and Annie Ripley Davis on September 5, 1935.  She was preceded in death by her husband, JC Parker and brothers, Willie Davis, John Davis, Herman Davis, Richard Davis and Luther Davis.

Marie’s legacy and memories of a life well-lived are her four children, daughter, Linda Coiner, step-daughter Alicia Young, son, Barry Snoddy (Lora) and son, Albert Parker (Darla); sisters, Annie Mae Wharam and Shelby Jones (Johnny); brother, Clarence Davis (Agnes); eight grandchildren, Brandi Teel (Durand), Chris Coiner (Liz), Mandy Parker, who provided her with much love and care during her final days, Brian Snoddy, Sarah Shumaker, Katie Perutelli (Jonathan), Timothy Lockard (Jessica) and Jack Martin (Cassie); 14 great-grandchildren, Dylan T., Riley, Caleb, Emily, Josh, Nathan, K.K., Britany, Dylan L., Ryder, Gabe, Chloe, Izzy and Owen, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Marie was a dedicated employee of Seay Milling and Machinery Company of Dillwyn for 30 years.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the Welcome Wesleyan Church Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arvonia Volunteer Fire Department.
