Luther “Lou” Norman Mabey, 88, of Farmville, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2022
Lou was born on July 30, 1934, to father Luther Mabey and mother Catherine Mabey. The oldest of three sons, he grew up in Lincoln Park. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan for his time in the service. After getting married in 1959 he and his wife, Anna, lived in Montville. In 1960, they moved to Succasunna where he lived for 55 years.
Lou was a loving husband to his wife Anna for 62 years. He was a kind man who was known for always doing the right thing and was a friend to all, helping whomever he was able. His easy spirit and warm smile endeared him to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed time spend with family, friends, playing golf and rooting for the NY Mets and NY Jets. Lou was a collector of chess sets.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Ellsworth Mabey.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; children, Mark and his wife, Sheila, and Cathy; grandson, Brandon and his wife, Holly; great-grandson, Maddox. He is also survived by his brother, Alfred; sister-in-law, Gayle; brother-in-law, Joseph; grand pups, Pixie and Calli, and many loving family members
A visitation will be held at the Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph New Jersey. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
