Larry O'Neal Hucks

Larry O'Neal Hucks, 71, of Richmond, died November 30, 2024.  He was born in South Carolina and was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margaret Hucks.

Larry taught at Arvonia Primary and Gold Hill Elementary schools in Buckingham County   at the start of his teaching career.  Years later he transferred to Richmond City Schools where he finished teaching for over 25 years.  He was a member of the Arvonia and Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Departments in which he enjoyed fighting fires and helping others out.

Larry is survived by his sons, Anthony Hucks, of Arvonia and Chris Hucks, of Buckingham; brother, Clennon Hucks, of South Carolina, six grandchildren, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.

As per his request, Larry will be cremated after services.

Donations can be made in Larry’s memory to either the Arvonia or Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Departments.
