Kenneth Wayne (Hogg) Trayer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Trayer, affectionately
known as "Hogg", who passed away on March 27, 2025 at the age of 71. Kenny was a beloved
husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose larger-than-life
presence will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Kenny was born on April 10, 1953 in Chester, VA to the late Jack Harold Trayer and Maggie
(Nickie) Albert Trayer. As the President of Rockmill/Bookermine Hunt Club, Kenny was well-
known for his leadership, dedication, and love of the outdoors. He worked for many years and
recently retired as a grading foreman, and his work ethic and commitment to his craft earned him
the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Kenny’s spirit and generosity extended beyond his professional life. He was a devoted family
man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. His love for his wife, Linda Trayer, and
their children was immeasurable. He is survived by his wife, Linda Trayer; daughters, Jennifer
Trayer and Jamie Palmore (Ricco); bonus son, Todd Spindle; sisters, Rhonda Puryear (David)
and Pamela Lynn Trayer; and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were dear to
his heart.
Kenny was also a proud uncle to Carrie Holshouser, Vance Milton, and Megan Morrison, and he
cherished the time spent with his many great-nieces and great-nephews. His legacy of love,
humor, and generosity will live on through all of them.
The family will receive friends Wednesday April 2, 2025 from 4-6pm at Dunkum Funeral Home
Dillwyn, VA. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 3, 2025 at 2pm at Dunkum Funeral
Home. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Friends and family are welcome to
join in honoring Kenny and sharing their cherished memories.
Kenny’s passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will continue
to inspire those who loved him. Kenny will be deeply missed, but his spirit, laughter, and love
will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
