Judy Page-Burnett, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 16, 2025 at Heritage Hall in Dillwyn, Va. She was born on February 28, 1951 In Wilson North Carolina. As a young girl, she and her family moved to Norfolk, Va. There she attended Lake Taylor High School but life’s rhythm soon carried her into the roles of a wife and mother. Years later, she relocated to Keysville, Va. where she remarried. After her grandchildren were born she moved to Columbia, Va. to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
Judy had a life long love of music and dancing and those who knew her remember the joy on her face and the way her eyes lit up when she would hear her favorite songs played. Music was her refuge. She moved through life to the rhythm of music and to the beat of her own drum. Judy and her daughter shared this love together and on any given day you could see them dancing together in the living rooms of the many places they lived. They danced together even in Judy's final days. Even through her illness music could light up her eyes and lift her beyond the pain. Also, Judy loved deer hunting and shared this love with her daughter. Judy would spend many hours in the woods as it was a place of solitude and reflection for her. Judy was a free spirit that you would find anywhere and everywhere ..barefooted, a gypsy in her own mind.
Judy spent the last 5 years of her life facing the many challenges of Alzheimer’s disease at Heritage Hall where she received compassionate care and comfort from her caregivers. Especially from one caregiver there that she got extra special care from in her last few months, Mackenzie Vance who showed Judy tremendous love and attention.
Judy was preceded in death by : her parents Richard Redden Page and Mary Magdaline Hawley Page, her sisters: Shirley Goodwin, Mary Matson, Jeanette Tennant, and Loretta Denardo, her brothers: Jimmy Page and Raymond Page, and her beloved dog Spanky.
She is survived by : her daughter Donna Tyson, son-in-law Barry Tyson, Grandsons Dillon Tyson and Cody Tyson, Great grandsons Dustin Tyson, Easton Tyson, and Marshall Banks Tyson, and a very special niece Raynell Matson Ashley of which Judy shared a very special bond with.
In Judy's honor, those who knew her are invited to turn on a favorite song and dance, just as she would have loved. As Judy wished, her daughter will spread her ashes at a later date along the Blue Ridge mountains.
