Jerry Wane Vernon was born April 25, 1961 and joined his mother, Anna Jane Vernon and sister, Margaret Whorley in heaven on July 17, 2020.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sharon Davis Vernon; his daughter, Jerri Vernon and son-in-law, Jason Tharpe. Jerry is also survived by brothers, Robert “Rob” Vernon and his wife, Susan and James “Jim” Vernon; sisters, Lillie “Mae” Powell and her husband, James; Connie King, Tammy Vernon and Theresa Chilcote; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Jerry also leaves behinds his beloved puppy dogs, Chase and Isabel and his cats, Miggy and Little Miss.
Jerry was known for helping everybody when he could. He was a very hard worker. If he wasn’t working he was hunting or fishing. If he wasn’t in a tree stand, he was in a boat. Some people called him “MacGyver” because he could fix anything. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the home on Jerry and Sharon, 9323 Andersonville Road, Dillwyn. Cards and flowers will be accepted by the family at the home.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
