Jerry Tyson

Jerry Tyson [Columbia, Virginia] - Jerry Tyson, 74, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Born on January 30, 1950, Jerry lived in Columbia, Virginia and devoted his life to his family. He enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle as an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper. He was known for his kind heart and infectious laughter.

Jerry owned and operated Tyson’s Contracting for many years as a master tradesman. 

Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Priscilla; and his grandchildren, Hunter, Holden, and Hallie Tyson. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Harlow (Mason); sister-in-love, Mary Tyson; brothers, Buster (Betty) and Wilbur; and brother-in-law, William Marks. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Tyson, and his brothers, Freddie, Ronald and Robert.

Jerry was a wonderful husband, dad, and Poppa. He was a great friend to many and will be missed every day.
