James Alfred (Jimmy) Dean

James Alfred (Jimmy) Dean, 82, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Cloverland Park Senior Living Center in Brentwood, TN.

Jimmy was born on February 21, 1943 in Buckingham County, Virginia to the late George and Margaret Dean.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Sallie Ann, and sisters Dora Amos and Ruby Sprouse.

He is survived by his daughter Sarah Litten (Alan) and grandson Tucker, all of Brentwood, TN.  He is also survived by nephew Donnie Amos (Susan), nieces Janet Fisher and Wendy Tolbert (Robert).  He is also survived by his sisters in law, Hilda Taylor of Cedarville, OH, and Mary Hagen of Dillwyn, brothers in law, Ronnie Gough and Addison Gough of Dillwyn, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was employed for over 40 years by Dominion Energy, where he was a lead lineman.  He loved his job and left his fellow employees with many stories and memories.  He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Family night will be Friday, January 2nd from 5-7 pm at Dunkum Funeral Home 16923 Oak Street, Dillwyn, VA  23936.

Funeral will be Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church 3808 Troublesome Creek Rd, Dillwyn, VA 23936.
