James Franklin Boyles, 85, passed away 22 January 2020 in Cumberland, VA.
He was born in Amelia Co. VA on 22 December 1934, as the seventh child to the late Pearl McMillian and Ollie A. Boyles. He was the husband of Virginia Hudgins Boyles for 67 years. He worked construction for many years, also loved farming and mechanical work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie B. Allen, son, Ronald F. Boyles, two grandsons, Jamie Allen and Jimmy Boyles, a step-grandson, Jay Dodson, two great granddaughters, Mia and Megan Boyles, three sisters, Ollie Jean Boyles, Shelia B. Stanford, and Elizabeth “Teeny” B. Webb. Stone, three brothers, Craig, Billy, and Deck Boyles.
He is survived by two sons, Michael W. Boyles of Cumberland, and James Larry (Mericia) Boyles of Dillwyn, son in law, Dennis J. Allen of Cumberland, ten grandchildren, Pamela B. Ownby, Nicole B. (George) Dickson, Vernon L. (Michelle) Boyles, Jason Boyles, Michelle V. (Chris) Whitley, R. Eugene (Ida) Boyles, Amy A. (Todd) Hintz, Daniel E. (Deanna) Boyles, Samantha B. (Denny) Lowe, Reva A. (Josh) Moore. Also, surviving are 23 great grandchildren, Tiffany Ownby, Ciera O. (Jesse) Warner, Dakoda and Kaleb Boyles, Brittany Meadows, J.R., Austin and Dennis E. Jr. Lowe, Mercedes Dooley, Addison and Madalyn Boyles, Christina B. (Gordon) Clark, Hunter and Mason Whitley, Miranda Boyles, Joey and Alex Boyles, Savannah Dickson, Clayton Allen-Hamby, Natalie Hintz, Curtis and Kayelyn Milliner, Ashley Dodson, and special girls Allie Ragland, Casey Moseley, and Allie Ownby, three great-great grandchildren Heaven Meadows, Briana Vernon, and Kayson Ayers, sisters in law, Louise M. Boyles, Annie May Miles and Sandra H.
