Gordon James Moss

Gordon James Moss, 90, of Dillwyn, went to his Heavenly Home on July 3rd, 2025 at UVA Hospital surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. Moss and Jessie C. Moss; his wife, Nellie Poe Moss; their baby boy; his sister, Florence "Nookie" Grigg ( Edward "Nick" Grigg) and grandson, John M. Jeffers.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Grigg; his daughter, Jacqueline Jeffers (John); granddaughters, Sherrie Zuraski (James), Jessie Troyer (David), Brittany Campbell (Ehab); great grandchildren, Asher Troyer, Gracelynn Troyer, Adriana Campbell, Nolan Campbell; and three special nephews, EG, Terry, and Kyle Grigg.

Nellie and Gordon were happily married for 63 years. Gordon served in the United States Army as a MP (Military Police). While serving in the military he deployed to Korea. He was retired from Solite Corporation and many knew him as their appliance repairman. Gordon loved his westerns, Louis L'Amour books, telling stories, and all things Christmas. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many. There was surely a reunion in Heaven. 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.  Interment with military honors following funeral service in the Dillwyn Town Cemetery.

Family will recieve frients one hour prior to the service.
