Eunice Leonard Chambers

Eunice Leonard Chambers went to her heavenly home on March 19, 2025.  She was the 8th child of nine born to Ernest Charles Leonard and Willie Reynolds Leonard.

Eunice was born February 18, 1933. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Earl, Bernard, Woodrow, Randolph, Augustus “Gus”, and Dale; two sisters, Mary Herring and Hazel Leonard; her husbands, Dave R. Jeffrey and Walter A. Chambers; son-in-law, John E. Mann, Jr. and her precious furbaby, Molly Ann Chambers.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie J. Mann; son, David R. Jeffrey and granddaughter, Katelyn N. Mann.

Eunice loved working outside tending to her plants, flowers, planting a small garden and cutting her grass. She loved watching her soap opera General Hospital, her church family and friends and her furbaby.

She was a wonderful mother, grandma and friend. Eunice was a lifelong resident of Buckingham County and moved to the New Canton area in the 1950s where she met her first husband.  After his death she remarried and moved one road over to Arvonia where she remained until she came to live with her daughter in 2024.

We would like to thank all the nurses of Hospice of the Piedmont, her two CNAs, Hope Anderson and Valerie Londree and especially Carla Loflin.

Viewing will be from 1 pm until 2 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025 with funeral to begin at 2 p.m. in the Arvon Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in the Arvonia Memorial Cemetery.
