Elwood Gordon Goolsby III, 61, of Buckingham, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on
March 12, 2024. He was born on January 7, 1963, in Charlottesville. He was preceded in
death by his mother and father, Irlet Faye Graves and Elwood Gordon Goolsby II. Gordon is
survived by his loving wife, Susan Williams Goolsby, his stepfather Henry Frank Graves (Frank),
his brother Timmy Goolsby (Barbara), and his children Shannon Goolsby (Amy), Shane Goolsby
(B.B), Joshua Goolsby (Jessica), Jenna Stiltner (Chris), and Samantha Bersch (Michael) and
one niece Amanda Goolsby. He was also a proud grandfather to Dylan, Cody, Austin, Lauren,
Abigail, Dawson, Kinley, and great-grandchildren. Gordon cherished his best friend Herbert
Lann Jr (Bear) and was ready to go home to be with him.
Gordon worked as a dedicated brick and block mason. In his free time, he found joy in hunting,
fishing, and riding motorcycles as a member of the Wrecking Crew motorcycle club. He was
known for his love and devotion as a husband, father, and grandfather. Gordon had a special
bond with his fur babies Lady, Harley, and Grizz.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Gordon’s life, where family and friends
will gather to celebrate his memory. Special thanks are extended to Susie, Wilbur, Vivian,
BCVRS, UVA Cardiac department, and Hospice for their support during this difficult time.
