Carolyn Jamerson Garris

Carolyn Claudette Jamerson Garris, 86, of Richmond,  passed away, Friday May 23 2025 at the home she shared with her daughter Terri Deel. 

She was born in Charlottesville on November 26, 1938. Ms. Garris was the daughter of the late Ruby Claude Jamerson and Annie Louise Gunther Jamerson. She was retired and a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Chesterfield for over 26 years. Her family was founding members of Gold Mine Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dillwyn.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Coy Clifton Garris, and two grandchildren Travis Cee Garris and Taylor Louise Garris. 

She is survived by her son Michael Anthony Garris (Carla), daughter Terri Garris Deel (Darrell), brothers Ronnie Jamerson (Nancy), Rogers Jamerson (Linda), sister Nancy Jamerson Boone (Rodger) and seven grandchildren, Coy J. Deel, Carlee Deel, Nicole Lamb (Kris), Megan Alexander (Brandon), Savanna Berlingeri, Caitlin Garris, Michael W. Garris (Kaitlin) and nine great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be conducted at Dunkum Funeral Chapel in Dillwyn on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00pm with interment immediately following in the Jamerson Family Cemetery, Red Road, Dillwyn.
