Bruce Raymond Bettis

Bruce Raymond Bettis, Sr., 78, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at his home for the last 18 years in Dillwyn, Virginia. Bruce was born on February 8, 1946 in North Canaan, Connecticut, the youngest son of the late Leon and Viola Bettis.   Bruce retired as a welder/project manager from General Electric Company located in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Bruce enjoyed working on his Corvair, following the New England Patriots, working in his yard and he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Bruce is survived by his significant other Pat Ratte; his three children, Leshia Singer, Tyra Minniear and her husband, Dan and Bruce Bettis, Jr.; five grandchildren and six great, grandchildren.

Bruce will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 12, 2024 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., at Bruce’s home at 504 Scotts Bottom Road, Dillwyn. This will be our time to share loving, happy memories about Bruce and breaking bread one last time in his honor.
