Bobby Daniel Allen

Bobby Daniel Allen, 78, of Dillwyn passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born in Richmond on May 2, 1946.

Bobby owned and operated with his wife, Judi, Allen’s Ambulance for 34 years, Allen’s Auto Sales and Allen’s Towing Service.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, John Daniel Allen and Bessie Sharp Allen; Brother J.C. Wharam and his wife, Peggy; and his beloved dog Katie.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judi Allen; daughter, Donna Wood; granddaughter, Madison Wood and sister, Debbie Snoddy and her husband, Dean. He is also survived by a niece and several nephews; special cousin, Bo Allen and numerous friends.

Bobby was a jack of all trades and loved working on his farm. He loved helping people no matter the time of day or night that they called.  He would respond with his ambulance or his rollback or just a helping hand. He also loved running his hunting dogs in many fox pens.

Bobby loved his granddaughter, Madison, and supported her barrel racing dreams by transporting her and horses throughout many states.

Bobby was an active member of the community, while his health allowed.  He was a member of the Dillwyn Masonic Lodge, lifetime member of Buckingham County Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the first Buckingham County Rescue Squad for seven years and a lifetime member of Historic Buckingham.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with interment in the Cedar Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, December 20, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 7p.m. at the funeral home.
