After a while they settled in Dillwyn, VA in Buckingham County. They attended Bethlehem Baptist Church on Troublesome Creek Road. After 16 years of service there, she became an active member of First Baptist Church, Dillwyn, where Betty sang in the choir and shared her love of music by occasionally singing solos or playing the piano.
Betty was preceded in death by Walt and both of their children.
Betty will be cremated and then her cremains will be sprinkled on her property and join those of Walt and Melody.
