Bernice Oliver Cook

Bernice Virginia Oliver Cook, 84, of Buckingham Courthouse,  passed away peacefully  Thursday Morning, March 6, 2025 with her family by her side.

Born in Buckingham County, January 19, 1941, Mrs. Cook was the daughter of the late Ruth Gills Oliver Emerson and Henry Carol Oliver.  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was retired as Manager of Jax Restaurant at Sprouses Corner.  Surviving are her daughters: Connie Cook Rush of Dillwyn and Kathy Virginia Cook Pfohl of Buckingham Courthouse; sons: Jesse Fred Cook of Dillwyn and Fred Caslier Cook, Jr. of Buckingham; sisters: Grace Carter of Midlothian and Estelle Brown of South Hill; loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.

Bernice loved nature: especially the many colors of green foliage.  She loved hiking trails in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.  She loved her family and helping anyone in need.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Jetersville, VA with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, in the church.
