Bernard Phillips Lohr, 86, of Buckingham, Virginia went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2024 at his home with his significant other by his side after a long battle from various injuries including frostbite.
He was born on January 3, 1938 in Waynesboro, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Elsie Finchham; his father, Leslie P. Lohr; brother, Carroll R. Lohr; daughter, Linda Gail Lohr-Freere; and, wife of 43 years, Jane Pleasant-Lohr. He is survived by his significant other of 24 years, Mary M. Lohr; son, Bernard P. Lohr; two sisters, Charlene Lohr and Ellen Lull; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Bernard proudly served in the United States Army for 3 years before working for Virginia Department of Transportation for 37 years ultimately retiring in October 1991 where he continued living the good life enjoying camping, fishing, gardening and traveling throughout the US.
Bernard was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge.

Services will be held at Dunkum Funeral Home, located at 16923 Oak Street, Dillwyn, Virginia 23936 on Monday, April 15, 2024. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral service at 11:00 am with burial to follow at 3:00 pm at Graham Cemetery, 14191 Constitution Highway, Orange, Virginia, 22960.
