Amy Christian Obituary

Amy Kitchen Christian, 70, of Wingina, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on September 9, 2024. She was born January 16, 1954, a daughter of the late Sebron Earl and Elizabeth Kyle Kitchen. 

Amy was an avid gardener of both flowers and vegetables that she enjoyed cooking and baking.  She was an active, lifetime member of Antioch/Union Baptist Church. Amy was employed as a Paraprofessional for Buckingham County Elementary School.

Amy is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Kendrick Lee “Kenny” Christian; two sons, Michael Christian (Kate) and Brian Christian (Melissa); brother, Earl Kitchen (Shelly); two sisters, Evelyn Treakas (Gus) and Nan Wright (Roger) and granddaughter , Cammie Christian (Daniel) that she raised as a daughter; 12  grandchildren Amber Clore (Travis), Chandler Roach ( Justin), Patrick Christian (Angel), Marcus Leake (Caitlin), Cierra Christian (Michael), Thomas Williams, Lane Christian, Kara Jane Stanley, Jeremiah Christian, Ava Christian and Madison Christian; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Christian (Vivian), Gene Christian (Misty); two sisters-in-law, Pat Oliver (Billy) and Janet Higgins and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, Amy was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Lee Christian and sister, Athena Kitchen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Antioch Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
