Mildred (Ownby) Craddock

Mildred Quay Ownby Craddock, 89, of Washington, North Carolina returned to her heavenly home on June 8, 2019.  A daughter of the late John Loy and Pearl Wolfe Ownby, she was born on August 20, 1929 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  She was a former Department Manager for Leggets Department Store in Farmville, VA.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Granville Craddock formally of Burkeville, VA; son, John Craddock; daughter, Martha Craddock; daughter-in-law, Patricia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her five brothers, Fred Ownby, Clyde Ownby, A. E. “Gene” Ownby, Gordon Ownby, and John Ownby.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 12 p.m. at Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland, VA with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m.
