Thomas Maxey, Jr., 80, of Dillwyn, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2017.  He was born July 19, 1936 in Buckingham County, the son of the late Thomas S. and Nellie Goin Maxey.  He retired from Thomasville Furniture Factory with over 21 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Huddleston Maxey; his two sons, John Thomas Maxey and Richard Lee Maxey; sister, Nellie Taylor and her husband, Lewis; and his three grandchildren, Hunter Lee, Jordan Allan and Taylor Lynn Maxey and his nieces and nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary M. Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with interment in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
