Kathleen (Kitty) Bartley Herndon, 89, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017.  She was born July 16, 1927.  Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Evan Bartley; her sister, Ruth Jones; brother, John Bartley; and loving husband of 44 years, Clarence V. Herndon.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Mozingo (Harry) and Kathy Peaslee (Bob); two sisters, Audrey Worley and Shirley Bryant (Danny); four grandchildren – Niki Scranton (Doug), Robby Peaslee, Jimmy Peaslee (Candy), Michael Mozingo (Denise); 7 great-grandchildren  – Casey, Caleb, Devin, Brayden, Nolan, Emma, Evan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was a loving, generous and kind person who always put her family first.  She helped everyone and no-one was ever a stranger to her. She loved to crochet and sew and was active in her church.  Most of all, she loved her family, grandchildren, and friends. 

Funeral services will be Monday, March 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Buckingham Baptist Church, Gold Hill, with interment in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, March 6th at 1:00 p.m. before the service at Buckingham Baptist Church.

The family invites everyone to the church fellowship hall for a time of food and fellowship following the service.
