Janice S. Harris, 73, of Dillwyn died December 7, 2016.  She was a retired employee with the Prince Edward Department of Social Services.  Janice is survived by her husband of 37 years, Kenneth A. Harris: step-son, David Harris (Greer); sister, Donna Stinson; brother, Jerry Harris (Brenda Rinard); granddaughter, Molly; four step-grandchildren, Meghann, Bobby, Tatum and Larken; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Shumaker and Laura Shumaker; nephew, Johnny Stinson (Chantal); two nieces, Lindsay Stinson Hopkins (Britt) and Ashley Harris Bain (Kenneth); great nieces, Natalia Stinson, Langston and Mary Reeves and many friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, France Willard and Lucy Whitson Harris; her two sons, Garnett Anderson Shumaker III and Christopher Todd Shumaker and brother, Johnny Mikel Harris.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.  The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:30 until 2 p.m.
