Gladys Arlene Herndon Taylor, 83, of Mechanicsville, surrounded by her family, went home to Our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.  She was born June 28, 1934, in Buckingham County, a daughter of the late Paul and Margie Ogle Herndon.  She was the widow of Bernard Allen Taylor, Sr.

Gladys enjoyed reading books, watching The Young and The Restless and the Channel 6 News. She loved being surrounded by her large family and looked forward to all family gatherings.

She is survived by her children, James Albert Taylor (Jackie) of Mechanicsville, Deborah Jean Taylor (Lewis Hopkins) of Glen Allen, Patricia Taylor Clements (Mike) of Mineral and Linwood Paul Taylor of Henrico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bernard Allen Taylor, Jr. and brother Benjamin Franklin Herndon.
