Clayton Eldridge Mitchell, 84, of Dillwyn, died November 24, 2017.  He was born May 18, 1933 in Walkerton, Virginia, a son of the late Herndon Lee and Virginia Irene Covington Mitchell.  He was a U. S. Army veteran.  Eldridge was a long haul truck driver for ConocoPhillips.  He was the widower of Shirley Bowen Mitchell.

Eldridge is survived by two sons, Clayton E. Mitchell, Jr. and Steven Gary Mitchell and one granddaughter, Sydney Mitchell Hartschenko.
